International Academy
Thanks to the efforts of one of the world's leading experts in Muay Boran, the Italian Marco De Cesaris, in collaboration with the Office of the Culture Commission of Thailand and thanks to the valuable support of the International Federation IAMTF, we arrived in the early 90s the creation of the first international school devoted entirely to the development of the discipline thai, the International Muay Boran Academy (IMBA), currently under AITMA (Association Institute of Thai Martial Arts), the latter internationally coordinated by the Grand Master Chinawoot Sirisompan.
The Academy of Muay Boran aims to realize a global training of teachers of Muay Thai, in all respects, to lead to a better qualification of the same in the context of Oriental Martial Arts.
In addition to Italy and Spain have joined other countries in recent years with enthusiasm to the project of the International Academy: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Germany, Greece, England, Finland, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, Thailand, USA, Zambia and, in the near future, Brazil, Canada, India, Malta, Philippines, Romania, South Africa, Sri Lanka.
The purpose of the International Muay Boran Academy are many, among them there are the cognitive organization of seminars open to practitioners of traditional martial arts, intensive stages, with emphasis on topics of special interest for self protection, courses for teachers at various levels and steps to grade students according to the guidelines of technical programs in Thailand.
The Ambassador of Thailand in Italy, Mr. Somboon Songiambut for years has given its highest availability sponsoring events organized by the Academy, thus further luster to the work of that body.
For the first time the ancient martial art of Thailand is emerging from the niche in which it has been blocked for years, closed by clichés such as "it's effective but I really want my face" or "okay but for the ring, road is "something else", the problem is to give new models and new benchmarks not favor the competitive aspect at the expense of martial, but allowing the two to live and Muay Boran is able to respond in the best way that need.
We invite you to try and practice, of course, and only under the supervision of a qualified instructor from IMBA, extended to all the fans, started and not, coming from the traditional disciplines or sports of the ring, eager to expand their luggage for technical or competitive martial.
